With the CDX-F5500
CD/MP3 receiver, Sony opens the door to greater song variety
on the road by including MP3 playback capability. While the
built-in amp (23.2 watts RMS x 4) powers up your favorite
MP3 tunes, the song titles show up on the blue and white display.
Use the EQ3 to adjust the sound: do it quickly with the preset
sound curves, or with more detailed tuning via the 3-band
equalizer. If your front speakers are low in the doors, Dynamic
Soundstage Organizer helps by shifting the soundstage to a
higher point in the car, giving your music a richer sound.
When it comes to adding external amplifiers, you get two sets
of preamp outputs for flexibility in system design. And the
rear outputs have a subwoofer mode with a low-pass filter
that keeps highs and mids from intruding into your bass.
